God’s plan to save us—to rescue us was foreordained prior to the foundation of the world. That indicates we can take no credit for our salvation. It is ludicrous to take credit for a plan that occurred before we were born (Ephesians 1:3,4).

Paul tells us that God saves us “not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His Mercy…” (Titus 3:5).

In 2 Timothy 1:9 we are told that God—”has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.” God chose you and me to be saved—long before the creation of the earth. Clearly salvation is not church centered or baptism, it is God centered.

Our responsibility with regard to salvation is to respond in loving obedience to the love of our heavenly Father (1 John 4:19).

Since God does the choosing all pride about our trusting in Jesus as our Saviour and being baptized should be removed. We need to say by our lifestyle “God I am thankful you chose me to be saved and to be part of Your family the Church. Thank You for giving me the opportunity to serve You through Jesus our Lord.

We should offer God our wholehearted gratitude for our Lord Jesus paying the price for our sins—past, present and future. GOD RESCUED US.
