Christians must always be prepared for battle. Paul instructed Timothy to “fight the good fight” – keep fighting (1 Timothy 1:18). As we go into battle we must identify who the enemy is.

At times some of Jesus’ disciples fight people—they are not our true enemies. Clearly we are to fight erroneous biblical teaching but not fight ones who hold unbiblical views. We must remember that the devil is the one we are fighting, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood…(Ephesians 6:12).

While identifying our enemy, we must remember that Christians are equipped with God’s power. It is impossible for the devil’s power to match God’s power. Paul encourages us to access God’s power in time of battle (Ephesians 6:17,18).

Clearly God is our strength through Jesus. Of course there will be times when we will take hits from the enemy. But God gives us the strength to strike back.

IF WE DRESS OURSELVES IN GOD’S ARMOUR EVERY DAY, WHILE WE MAY GET HURT, GOD WILL NOT ALLOW US TO BE DEFEATED.
