Christians And “Action”

As a result of being a Church member, is your life changing for the better? Because of your relationship to Jesus, are you experiencing a life changing impact from the Church? Most of us will agree with the following:

To LOOK is one thing.
To SEE what you look at is another.
To UNDERSTAND what you see is still something else.
But to ACT on what you learn is really what matters.

Being exposed to and influenced by our homes, our society and by our jobs should cause us to give pause and reflect upon our role as members of the Lord’s body. Every week we need to LOOK and to SEE and to UNDERSTAND and then to ACT on what we learn. Such a response was to Jesus the bottom line of Christian living-- ”If you know these things, you are blessed if you DO (ACT UPON) them” (John 13:17). “If any one loves Me, he will KEEP (ACT UPON) My Word and My Father will love Him and we will come to Him and make our abode with Him” (John 14:23).

Our Lord desires that we grow from being spectators to being participants and to move from being detached from the Church to being involved. That means we act upon what we learn.

“Action” requires not only for us to watch and pray but to live and experience the reality of our relationship to Jesus because we are members of His body.
